Karamoko Dembele makes Celtic 'enjoying football again' admission as he reveals Ange Postecoglou era hopes

Highly-rated winger Karamoko Dembele admits he is back to loving life at Celtic after struggling for minutes last season.

The 18-year-old was handed a start by Ange Postecoglou in the win over Charlton and rewarded the bosses faith with a goal.

Dembele burst onto the scene as a 14-year-old in 2016 when he made his debut for the reserves and sponsorship deals and lofty predictions have followed.

However, he only made seven appearances last term netting once under Neil Lennon and John Kennedy.

He now hopes to put himself in mind for a starting spot under the Australian gaffer with his pre-season performances.

He told Celtic TV: “It was obviously good to get out there, play 45 minutes and enjoy my football again. I was pleased with my performances as well.

“It was good to score, but just enjoying football again, I think that’s the main thing, because obviously I’ve not played for a while. It was good to get out there and just have fun.

“When you’re not playing you’re obviously motivated to play, but when you are out there you just want to give it your all and show what you can do, and obviously score and just enjoy the game."

On his first-team ambitions, he added: “I’m training every day just to try and show the manager what I can do. It’s good to get more minutes in the legs as well.”

Dembele has been impressed by the new boss so far and reckons he gives the Celtic Park players a clear vision of what he wants from the players.

“Everyone was moving well, everyone knew what to do before the game.

"The manager was very clear on what he wanted us to do and how he wanted us to play. I think everyone understood that and I think that helped everyone.

“When I came in I just thought lets gamble in there and see if I could get the ball and obviously it worked out for me."
