Karamoko Dembele leaves Celtic 'disappointed' as Borussia Dortmund keep tabs on wonderkid

Celtic have been left "disappointed" with Karamoko Dembele so far this season with the prodigy attracting attention from Borussia Dortmund and other European giants.

The 17-year-old wonderkid has struggled to break into Neil Lennon 's first-team squad this term, with his only action coming in a substitute appearance during the opening day 5-1 rout over Hamilton.

However, it appears concerns at Celtic Park over the development of the young talent have led to chances becoming limited for the starlet.

The Athletic report that "many people involved at the club are a little disappointed with the Dembele situation".

They note that Celtic chiefs feel he is "clearly has exceptional talent, but there have been concerns about his physical development" along with "worries over his application and attitude".

The report suggests this is why he’s not part of the first-team picture when he was originally tipped as back-up for James Forrest this term.

With Dembele out of contract this summer and free to speak to other clubs from January, it doesn't appear he will be lacking suitors, with German giants Borussia Dortmund monitoring the situation.

According to Spanish football magazine Don Balon Dortmund are among the club watching him, with Real Madrid and Barcelona also keeping tabs on the youngster.

As Dembele is under 23 they cannot approach him in January as would usually be the case with a player whose contract has six months to run.

However, the youngster will be a free agent next summer and as things stand could move for only a development fee.
