Karamoko Dembele in line for Celtic debut against Hearts

16-year-old Karamoko Dembele could make his Celtic first team debut against Hearts on Sunday.

The teenager has been attracting hype for several years, featuring for the club’s Under 20 side when he was just 13-years-old.

He has represented both Scotland and England at various international age groups, but appears to be edging towards representing England after the Scottish FA put a stop to him coming back to play for them in certain tournaments pending his decision.

Hearts will head to St Andrews to prepare for William Hill Scottish Cup final

It’s likely both Neil Lennon and Craig Levein will field second string sides in Glasgow on Sunday to avoid the potential for injuries and suspensions ahead of their William Hill Scottish Cup final meeting six days later.

“Karamoko Dembele is a possibility for Sunday,” said the Celtic boss. “He’s training with the squad this week, as is Ewan Henderson.

"We’ve got boys that are carrying knocks and we don’t feel the need to risk them ahead of the Cup Final.

"Kieran Tierney and James Forrest won’t be involved at the weekend but both should be fit for the cup final.”
