Kanye West track about 'escaping' Kim Kardashian marriage is 'emotional and personal'

Kanye West's new track about his doomed marriage to Kim Kardashian is said to be "emotional and personal" despite likening their split to an "escape".

The rapper separated from the reality TV star in April after six years of marriage, citing "irreconcilable differences" and agreeing to joint custody of their four young children.

He is now on the verge of releasing new album Donda, named after his late mother, and it's claimed one of the songs focuses on his relationship with KIm.

However, it is claimed that the rap star, 44, broke down in teats during a listening party to his latest track, Welcome to my Life, taken from his latest album, Donda.

The track named Welcome to my Life was played at a listening party in Las Vegas, and sources claim the record discusses the breakdown of his marriage, as well as his failed bid to run for US President.

It's believed that a lyric on the track states: "Tell the assassins I escaped from Calabasas" - which seems to be a reference to the home he shared with Kim in the Californian celebrity enclave.

However, a source says Kanye has nothing negative to say about his estranged wife and even played her the song before the listening party.

"Kanye actually played the song for Kim personally before the listening party," a source told Page Six.

They went on to add: "It’s emotional and personal - not negative at all."

Speaking to The Sun about West's exclusive listening party, a source said: "It's a very deep, sad song about Kanye, with him reflecting on his marriage with Kim.

"He talks about the kids and mentions her taking everything."

They went on to say: "After he played this song he paused for like, two minutes, and cried, it was really sombre."

Musician Justin LaBoy was fortunate to receive an invite to the party held at Vegas' ChurchLV for Christians.

In view of his 354,000 Twitter followers, he wrote: "Kanye played his new album for me & @KDTrey5last night in Vegas.

"Man listen! The production is light years ahead of its time, and the bars sound like he’s broke & hungry trying to get signed again.

"Any artist who plan on dropping soon should just push it back [sic]."

Kim recently had nothing but praise for her soon-to-be ex-husband (GETTY)

During their marriage, Kim and Kanye lived in Calabasas, within close proximity of Kim's famous family.

Glimpses of their private life were shared on Keeping Up With The Kardashians, with Kanye featuring in rare pieces to camera interviews but often shying away from filming the hit E! programme.

Despite Kim and Kanye's intentions to divorce, it appears that Kim has nothing but praise for her former husband.

The reality star admitted she will "always" be a fan of Kanye (GETTY)

During a special reunion episode of Keeping Up, she told Andy Cohen: "That was my friend first and foremost for a long time, so I can’t see that going away.

"I will forever be Kanye’s biggest fan. He’s the father of my kids. Kanye will always be family."

The Mirror has approached representatives for Kanye West for comment.
