Kanye West moves album release forward

Kanye West has announced that his new album, 808s & Heartbreak, will be pushed forward from December to "November something".

"I CHANGED MY ALBUM TO NOVEMBER SOMETHING CAUSE I FINISHED THE ALBUM AND I FELT LIKE IT," he wrote on his blog. "I WANT YALL TO HEAR IT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

This was a disappointment to the controversy-starved music press, who had been hoping for another Kanye West v 50 Cent chart battle in December. West crushed Fiddy in a similar showdown last year and the latter has a release planned for December. Judging from his blog, however, Kanye has things other than 50 Cent on his mind – mostly pretty girls, fast cars and contemporary design.

Also on West's mind is the matter of remixes. Perhaps following the example of Radiohead, Kanye has made available the individual instrumental and vocal tracks, or "stems", for Love Lockdown, his new – and controversial – single, and the first to be taken from his forthcoming album. However, there's nothing like Radiohead's fancy upload-listen-and-vote website – Kanye's just thrown the MP3s on to his blog . But whereas Radiohead are charging fans to download their stems, Kanye is offering his for free.

The man just keeps on spoiling us.
