Kanye West meets Donald Trump at Trump Tower

Kanye West has met with Donald Trump at Trump Tower in New York, weeks after endorsing him during a concert.

The rapper strolled past the press pool now permanently stationed at the foot of the gilded building and walked inside at 9.30am, flanked by his entourage.

A smiling West emerged shortly after making his entrance with Mr Trump in tow. When asked by the press pool what they discussed, Mr Trump responded: “Just friends and he’s a good man. We’ve been friends for a long time.”

When pressed again on what they discussed, Mr Trump replied: “Life”.

West ignored questions from reporters on whether he is still considering running for president or whether he would perform at Mr Trump’s inauguration.

“I just wanted to take a picture right now,” he eventually replied before leaving the building.

His wife Kim Kardashian was not with him at the time.

The rapper has made no secret of his own political ambitions and repeated his plans to run in 2020 at a concert in November, meaning he would likely run against Mr Trump.

Despite this, he also expressed his support for the President-elect, telling an audience in California: “I told y’all I didn’t vote, right? But if I would’ve voted I would’ve voted for Trump.”

West was hospitalised on 21 November after suffering from exhaustion and discharged after a week.

A spokesperson for Mr Trump did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
