Kanye West has been praised for a generous toy donation to a Chicago community.
The rapper, 44, bought more than 4,000 toys for kids in the area and they were distributed on Sunday.
The artist, now legally known as 'Ye, purchased the gifts for the Toys for Englewood event held at Kennedy King Gymnasium, ABC 7 Chicago reported.
Speaking to the station, the Alderman of Chicago's 16h Ward, Stephanie Coleman, said: "I'm so proud that Kanye is, once again, responding to our request to help the children of Englewood and beyond.
"He is no stranger to our community. His presence has always been felt in our neighbourhoods and he loves visiting, but this Christmas he has truly been our modern-day Santa Claus."
She also told WGN-TV that the Gold Digger singer is a "hometown hero" who is always willing to help out with whatever the community needs.

She said: "We want to thank him for understanding that children in Englewood, and on the South Side and in Chicago in general, some will be without this holiday.
"Some are without their fathers due to gun violence, due to mass incarceration, so today, we are here being a blessing."
There were several other community names who donated to the worthy cause.
This latest kind gesture follows Kanye's appearance last month as the Los Angeles Mission in which he helped deliver 1,000 meals to Skid Row ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.
According to Page Six, 'Ye said: "The narrative God wants is to see that we can be redeemed in all these relationships. We’ve made mistakes. I’ve made mistakes."
As well as his acts of kindness, the rapper i s said to be "not giving up" on his marriage to Kim Kardashian despite the reality TV star filing for an immediate end to their partnership.
It was reported earlier in this that Kim, 41, insists there is no way back for the couple and has requested to be "legally single" with immediate effect.

But the news doesn't appear to have swayed her former beau's thoughts as 'Ye made public pleas for Kim to come back to him, including singing it to her at his Free Larry Hoover concert.
A source close to the Gold Digger star told People on Tuesday that he viewed his marriage and family as "important".
The source said: "He's not giving up without a fight. Kim is the mother of his children and he's not going to just let that go.
