Kiss star Paul Stanley has urged others to show compassion for Kanye West amid concerns for his well-being.

Stanley made the plea on Twitter, where he shared comments previously made by Kim Kardashian West about her husband’s mental health.

“Let’s have compassion and commend this,” he wrote.

“So many struggle with mental illness and depression and we can all make a difference.”

West has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and has spoken publicly about the condition.

In a recent statement on Instagram Stories, Kardashian West wrote: “As many of you know, Kanye has bipolar disorder. Anyone who has this or has a loved one in their life who does, knows how incredibly complicated and painful it is to understand,” adding: “I feel like I should comment on it because of the stigma and misconceptions about mental health.”

She called her husband “a brilliant but complicated person” whose “words sometimes do not align with his intentions”.

“Living with bipolar disorder does not diminish or invalidate his dreams or creative ideas,” she wrote, asking for “compassion and empathy” on behalf of her family.

Her statement came after West shared a series of troubling, now-deleted tweets about his personal life.

Those tweets were posted after West held a political rally in South Carolina on Sunday.

Back on 4 July, West said he was running for president in 2020. He has since qualified to appear on the ballot in Oklahoma.
