Kanye West is 'no longer working with Johnny Depp's lawyer' after anti-Semitic comments

Kanye West is said to have been dropped by Johnny Depp's lawyer Camille Vasquez, following the rapper's anti-Semitic comments.

Camille, who helped lead the Pirates of the Caribbean actor to victory in his defamation trial against Amber Heard, was supposed to represent Ye in his business matters.

She would have been handling contracts and other deals. The lawyer was not involved in handling the proceedings of his divorce from Kim Kardashian.

Camille reportedly told her firm, Brown Rudnick, that she was unwilling to represent 45-year-old Kanye, less than a week after he hired her.

Brown Rudnick still attempted to work with the star, but only on the condition he would publicly retract his recent hateful remarks.

An insider said Kanye refused to back down and has stopped working with the law firm, according to TMZ.

The Mirror has approached Camille and Kanye's representatives for comment.

Kanye recently issued an apology for his anti-Semitic comments during an explosive interview with Piers Morgan, saying: "I will say I'm sorry for the people that I hurt with the death con, with the confusion.

"I feel like I caused hurt and confusion and I am sorry for the families of the people who had nothing to do with the trauma that I had been through.

"I used my platform where you say, I hurt people, and I was hurt."

He added: "It’s wrong to hold an apology hostage and I gotta let go of that and free myself of the trauma.

"And say I’m just going to give it all up to God right now and say to those families that I have hurt, I just want to give you a big hug. I say I am sorry for hurting you in my comments."

News of Camille dropping the musician comes as his working relationship with Adidas has also come to an end.

The sports company have branded Kanye's recent comments as "unacceptable, hateful and dangerous".

In a statement addressing his recent comments, Adidas confirmed they have terminated their working relationship with the dad-of-four with immediate effect and will take a €250 million ($246.5 million) hit to net income in the current fiscal year.

"Adidas does not tolerate anti-Semitism and any other sort of hate speech.

"Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness.

"After a thorough review, the company has taken the decision to terminate the partnership with Ye immediately, end production of Yeezy-branded products and stop all payments to Ye and his companies.

"Adidas will stop the adidas Yeezy business with immediate effect," the statement read.

It continued: "This is expected to have a short-term negative impact of up to 250 million euro on the company’s net income in 2022 given the high seasonality of the fourth quarter.

"Adidas is the sole owner of all design rights to existing products as well as previous and new colourways under the partnership.

"More information will be given as part of the company’s upcoming Q3 earnings announcement on November 9 2022."
