Rapper Kanye West has filed to legally change his name amid his ongoing divorce from estranged wife Kim Kardashian.
The 44-year-old musician, who is preparing to release his new album Donda, has asked a judge to change his name, according to legal documents.
Kanye asked his lawyer to file a petition for him to change his birth name from Kanye Omari West to just "Ye", according to documents obtained by The Blast.
It's reported Kanye wants his name change due to "personal reasons" and didn't appear to give any other details about his decision.
Kanye and Kim are currently separated and are in the midst of finalising their divorce, which has been in the works since February.
Despite their split, the couple are still showing their support for each other after six years of marriage.
In recent days, Kim proved that she is still a fan of Kanye's music.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star took to her Instagram Stories to share with her fans that she was listening to Kanye's upcoming album Donda in her car as she drove about on Saturday.
Kim - who shares North, 8, Chicago, 3, Saint, 5, and Psalm, 2, with ex Kanye - posted snaps of the dashboard of her vehicle which revealed that her music selection was full of Kanye's new songs.
It comes amid reports that the Yeezy creator is single after 'splitting' from model Irina Shayk.
Model Irina and Kanye were rumoured to have struck up a romance following his split from wife Kim after they were pictured together a number of times.
Kanye has known supermodel Irina for years, and she appeared in the rapper's video for his single, Power back in 2010.
They never made the romance official but now it looks as if the brief affair is all over and sources close to the musician are keen to play down any rumours of a bad break-up.
One insider told People.com : "Kanye has been busy working and spending time with his kids. This is his focus.
"He doesn't have time to date right now. It was never a serious thing that took off. He finds Irina amazing, though. They remain friendly."
It's thought Irina wasn't happy with Kanye's continued closeness to his ex Kim.
