Kanye West fans beg rapper to 'save Chester Zoo' after he shares bizarre message

Kanye West has been asked to 'save Chester Zoo' after he threw his support behind the organisation's latest project.

In what might seem like an unlikely partnership, the 43-year-old rapper took to social media to share an image of a proposed plan that the zoo had looked into over a decade ago.

It comes as the latest in a long line of bizarre social media tweets alongside his highly ambitious US presidential bid.

Earlier today, Kanye tweeted a link to a 2010 TrendHunter article about plans to build a gigantic biodome at the zoo, captioning it: "YZY team loves Proctor Matthews Architects ‘Africa Heart’ bio dome." - reported Cheshire Live.

The Heart of Africa bio-dome, dubbed the Eden Project of the north, was due to be the first phase of the £225m Natural Vision scheme but plans were later shelved.

The structure, which was planned to mimic the natural African rain forest habitats of the Congo, would have housed a band of gorillas, a large troop of chimpanzees, okapi, birds, amphibians, reptiles, fish, invertebrates and a wide variety of plant life.

Sharing the post with his 30 million Twitter followers, Kanye was quickly inundated with messages from fans as well as the official Chester Zoo site who thanked him for his support.

In their response, the zoo officials wrote: "Hey ye - Glad you love it! Thanks for highlighting our work to help save endangered species from extinction.

"Unfortunately these are old plans now, but once we’ve saved our zoo following the coronavirus pandemic, things like this might be possible again."

In response to the zoo's tweet, some suggested West could help save the zoo from their current financial problems by donating money towards its future.
