Kanye West and Kid Cudi debuted their new Kids See Ghosts at a listening party, technical faults delaying the event by almost three hours.
Last week, West released his eighth studio album ye via a similar live stream from Wyoming, the rapper deciding on the same approach for the collaborative record.
However, the streaming app chosen by West to host the event, Wav, suffered technical faults throughout the evening. The listening party was intended to start at 8:00pm PST (4:00am BST) but ended up only working at 10:45pm PST (6:45am BST).
The stream has since ended but you can watch clips from the listening party below.
When exactly the record will debut on streaming services such as Spotify and Tidal remains unknown. Ye premiered midday last Friday, with many expecting a similar roll-out for Kids See Ghosts.
Track one features a verse from fellow GOOD music artist Pusha T, while Mos Def makes an appearance later on. West also samples Kurt Cobain’s ”Burn The Rain” on the album’s last track. The album cover, designed by longtime collaborator Takashi Murakami, debuted online earlier this week.
This marks the third record produced by West – the other two being Pusha T’s Daytona and West’s own ye – in the same number of weeks. Another two albums produced by him are due within the next two weeks: one from Nas and the other from Teyana Taylor.
Meanwhile, the reviews for ye have been released over the past week, the critical consensus being mixed, The Independent falling on the negative side.
