In the latest update to come from the chaotic world of Kanye West, the rapper is gearing up to sue a Beverly Hills dentist for gross negligence and medical malpractice. The reason? For allegedly getting him hooked on nitrous oxide.
West and his wife Bianca Censori served a legal notice to Dr Thomas Connelly, dentist to the stars, on Wednesday, claiming the rapper suffered injuries and financial damages due to alleged reckless administration of nitrous oxide i.e laughing gas.
Per E News, the formal notice of intent to sue claims Connelly “repeatedly administered or supplied nitrous oxide and/or other sedative subtances to Ye in quantities and frequencies that had no legitimate dental or medical justification”.
“Notably, you went so far as to deliver large ‘surgical-size’ nitrous oxide tanks to Ye’s personal residence (including the residence he shared with Ms. Censori), effectively enabling and encouraging him to inhale nitrous oxide outside of any medical setting,” their attorneys stated.
They also alleged the dentist “instructed Ye on how to self-administer nitrous oxide” and didn’t hold back on access to the gas even after he started “exhibiting distressing neurological symptoms and erratic behavior” consistent with overuse.

As reported by E News, they’ve also taken aim at Connelly allegedly administering a substance similar to propofol (which is an injectable sedative) and discharging him without “verifying his medical soundness.”
“As a result, in this instance, Ye suffered extreme mental and physical distress leading to urgent medical care,” his lawyers wrote in the letter.
“Your actions and omissions were negligent, grossly negligent, and reckless, and some may have been intentional and malicious.”
Dentist Connelly — whose Instagram features work for model Candice Swanepoel and the Backstreet Boys’ AJ McLean, among others — was employed by West in early 2024. He’s accused of supplying the rapper with significant amounts of the anesthetic while he underwent cosmetic dental treatment (ahem, the USD $850,000 titanium teeth West got done last year).
Going by the legal letter, the couple are planning to sue for medical malpractice, gross negligence, fraud, exploitation, reckless administration of controlled and uncontrolled substances and more.

Per California law, a formal notification has to be served to defendants 90 days before they can be sued for medical malpractice.
As for Censori, her and West’s attorneys said she’s also been affected, having been “deprived of the companionship, support, services, and marital relationship of her husband” during this time.
“Instead of enjoying a healthy married life, she was forced to witness Ye’s physical and mental distress and deterioration,” the attorneys said in the letter, “and to assume the burden of caring for him under extremely distressing circumstances.”
If any of this about West’s nitrous oxide addiction sounds a little familiar, it might be because his rep Milo Yiannopoulos dished on this last year.
“Connelly got Ye hooked on nitrous — laughing gas. It is my belief that Connelly sought to diminish Ye’s mental faculties so that Connelly and his business associates could extract millions of dollars from him,” Yiannopoulos tweeted last year, per Page Six.

He also claimed he’d filed a complaint with the California Dental Board against the dentist. Per the publication, Yiannopoulos accused Connelly of charging Ye $50,000 for recreational use of nitrous gas in his complaint.
At the time, a rep for Connelly denied the allegations, stating the tweets were “not only factually incorrect but also intentionally misleading.”
“Dr. Thomas P. Connelly categorically denies all the false allegations made by Milo Yiannopoulos in his affidavit,” they said, as reported by Complex.
“Dr. Connelly has never engaged in any reckless, unethical, or illegal conduct, nor has he ever endangered the health and safety of any of his patients.”
Ooo boy, sure feels like it’s another day, another legal battle going down — wonder how this one’s going to land?
