MEERUT: Over 100 kanwarias went on a rampage on Saturday near a police post in Kankerkhera area which falls on the main route of the kanwar yatra after a clash broke out between two Bharatpur-based kanwariyas and two members of other community over allegedly “damaging” their kanwars.
Police somehow managed to control the situation. SSP Rohit Sajwan said, “It seems there was some misunderstanding. The suspected men have been detained and the probe is on.”
