Kante, Christensen and Rudiger - Latest Chelsea team news and expected line-up vs Newcastle

Chelsea are looking to make it four wins in a row across all competitions when they face Newcastle United next weekend.

After suffering back-to-back home losses against Valencia as well as Liverpool, Frank Lampard's side have responded in style.

They thumped Grimsby Town 7-1 in the Carabao Cup, then overcame Brighton and Hove Albion, secured an impressive 2-1 success away at Lille in the Champions League and beat Southampton last time out.

Attentions will soon be turning to the first Premier League game after the second international break of the season.

The Blues are back at Stamford Bridge next Saturday to take on a Newcastle side which has had a mixed start to the campaign as they've beaten Tottenham Hotspur but also lost heavily against Leicester City.

Steve Bruce's side will go into the game in west London on the back of a 1-0 win over Manchester United.

But what's the latest team news surrounding the Blues?

Football.london takes a look.

In terms of injuries, there some fresh concerns as Andreas Christensen, N'Golo Kante and Reece James have all suffered scares whilst on international duty.

Although, there's no reason to suggest any of the trio will be ruled out.

Antonio Rudiger and Emerson Palmieri could return against the Magpies, but Ruben Loftus-Cheek remains sidelined and will not feature at Stamford Bridge.

In terms of a line-up, one of many decisions Lampard has to make is whether or not hand Rudiger and Emerson an immediate recall, while he could have a decision to make over Kante, Christensen and James.

Assuming that Kante's injury isn't too serious - like Didier Deschamps has said - expect him to start against Newcastle with Mason Mount moving further forward.

Given that the Blues head coach is yet to name an unchanged side this season, we expect him to make a few alterations to the team which started at St Mary's and that means Emerson comes in for Marcos Alonso at left-back.

Expected Chelsea line-up: Kepa; Azpilicueta, Zouma, Tomori, Emerson; Jorginho, Kante, Kovacic; Willian, Abraham, Mount
