Kansas (2-2) vs. TCU (2-1) Game Preview
Why Kansas Will Win
The Jayhawks got TCU last year in a 27-26 shocker, and now they’re far better.
The offense has a running game again, Carter Stanley is hitting 72% of his passes and brings a steady playmaker at quarterback, and the defense has stepped it up in a big way under the new coaching staff.
There’s a decent pass rush and the pass defense isn’t getting torched, and now it’s going against an offense that’s struggling to find any semblance of consistency with the passing game.
TCU doesn’t have a downfield attack, relying on the running backs and the defense to get the job done. The formula worked over the first two weeks, but it wasn’t enough to get by SMU last ween when QB Shane Buechele came up with a sharp performance. Stanley needs to keep being strong.
Why TCU Will Win
That formula should be good enough.
The Kansas run defense has been okay, but it’s able to get steadily hit by any ground attack looking to control the game and the clock. The Jayhawks aren’t good when it comes to time of possession, and the offense isn’t going to be explosive enough against this Horned Frog D to make up for it.
TCU is 12th in the nation in time of possession, and Kansas is 100th. The Horned Frogs should be able to hang on to the ball for well over 35 minutes, and they should be able to be ultra-conservative.
Garret Wallow – 19 tackles against SMU – and the good linebacking corps should be able to keep Pooka Williams and the backfield from going off.

What’s Going To Happen
The Horned Frogs will do what they couldn’t do against SMU and get the defense off the field. Time of possession will matters and Kansas won’t be able to get into any sort of a groove. TCU will hardly be fantastic, but it’ll methodically rebound from last week’s gaffe.
