Kansas City Chiefs propose rules change on jersey numbers

The NFL is a stickler when it comes to what numbers players can wear depending on their position. A proposal by the Chiefs is asking the league to increase flexibility at certain positions.

Chiefswire presents the current numbers by position:

These are the rules on jersey numbers as they currently stand:

  • QB/P/K: 1-19
  • RB: 20-49
  • TE/FB: 40-49, 80-89
  • WR: 10-19, 80-89
  • OL: 50-79
  • DL: 50-79, 90-99
  • LB: 40-59, 90-99
  • DB: 20-49

The suggested changes, which could have an immediate impact on some big names … and jersey sales.

The entire proposal is below:

Cameron DaSilva on Ramswire offers Jalen Ramsey could drop a “0” from his current 20 and go to “2” if the proposal goes through.

Any ideas or thoughts on other players who might swap their digits for a different set?
