North Melbourne's Tarryn Thomas has been banned for one AFL match after a rough conduct charge. (AAP)

North Melbourne's Tarryn Thomas has been slapped with a one-match AFL ban for a rough conduct charge, but GWS spearhead Jesse Hogan and Richmond ruckman Toby Nankervis can escape with fines for striking.

Thomas's hit on Hawthorn's Changkuoth Jiath was assessed as careless conduct, medium impact, and high contact, resulting in a one-match ban.

Hogan can escape with a $2000 fine for striking Richmond's Nathan Broad.

Nankervis was offered the same fine for his strike on Hogan.

Tigers forward Tom Lynch was also slapped with a $2000 fine for a rough conduct charge against Jack Buckley, while Sydney's Sam Wicks copped the same fine for striking Collingwood's Darcy Moore.

Hawthorn's Jack Scrimshaw (rough conduct) and Port's Tom Jonas (dangerous tackle) also received $2000 fines.
