Kane Hemmings to return to Dundee as they beat St Johnstone in striker hunt

Dundee have beaten St Johnstone to land re-sign Kane Hemmings.

Saints had made an approach for the striker but he is on the verge of a return to Dens Park,

The 28-year-old netted 21 goals for the Dark Blues under Paul Hartley before he won a big-money move to Oxford in 2016.

Hemmings has now agreed to leave Notts County and join Dundee on a long-term contract.

Dark Blues boss James McPake has been looking to sign another striker to partner Danny Johnson and now believes he has the perfect foil in Hemmings.

St Johnstone were keen on a loan but Dundee have pushed the boat out financially to convince him to drop down to the Championship.
