Oct. 13--Kane County Sheriff's Office deputies are searching for two men who fled after a car crash early Tuesday in west suburban Kaneville Township.
Around 12:50 a.m., a car and a semi-truck crashed in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 88 near Dauberman Road, according to the Illinois State Police. The car involved in the crash was discovered to be stolen during a carjacking in Chicago, according to a release from the Kane County Sheriff's Office.
The male driver of the car was taken to Presence Mercy Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, said Illinois State Police Master Sgt. Jason Bradley. The man was treated and released and was taken into custody, authorities said.
Two other people who were inside the car managed to run away. No one else was reportedly injured as a result of the crash, according to state police.
Several hours after the crash, sheriff's deputies searched an area in the village of Kaneville after a resident reported seeing two suspicious people near a park around 5:30 a.m., according to the release.
No one was found, but deputies plan on having an increased presence in the area.
The two suspects are black males, and one of them has dreadlocks. No other description of the two was available, according to the release.
