Kambah man to face court over ram raid spree

A 29-year-old man who allegedly ram raided several commercial properties, including a chemist and a Harry Potter-themed store, will face court today.

Between 5am and 6am on Monday, April 13, a series of businesses in Garran, Hughes and Fyshwick were rammed by a car.

Capital Chemist at Hughes, Quizzic Alley and Uneke Furniture at Fyshwick were all targeted.

ACT Police arrested the man at a Kambah residence on Saturday and executed a search warrant at the address.

Police believe the burglaries were not related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The man will face a total of 16 charges, including burglary, theft, damage property, attempt burglary, drive motor vehicle without consent, drive while disqualified, attempt to take a motor vehicle without consent, and a breach of an intensive corrections order.

Investigations are continuing into the commercial burglaries.
