Kamaru Usman and Tyron Woodley traded a lot barbs leading up to their welterweight championship bout at UFC 235 last weekend in Las Vegas.
But after the fight, as is often the case with MMA, the two were very respectful to each other. Usman, of course, took Woodley’s belt with via a unanimous decision, a fight that Woodley never looked like the fighter that he’s been during his career.
As Usman left the Octagon he saw a special person waiting in the hallway backstage and stopped to offer his respects. That woman? Woodley’s mom.
She told an emotional Usman:
“It’s all good, baby. It’s all good. It’s your turn. It ain’t his turn.”
