Vice President Kamala Harris is shaking up her property portfolio.

Earlier this year Harris and her husband, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff sold a two-storey penthouse in the trendy SoMa neighbourhood of San Francisco, reportedly for £580,000.

And now their two-bedroom apartment in Washington DC is on the market for just over £1.45 million

High spec perks include a walk-in pantry, grilling terrace and use of the only 25-metre heated rooftop pool in the US capital.

The apartment is in the 10-storey Westlight development, in the West End neighbourhood, where amenities include a dog-washing station, a fitness centre and a 50ft living wall in the entrance lobby. The couple are thought to have paid just under £1.3 million for the property in 2017.

While renovations were being carried out at the official VP residence – a 9,000 sq ft home in the grounds of the US Naval Observatory – Harris and Emhoff split their time between President Joe Biden’s official Guest House and the couple’s mansion in Brentwood, California

They’re expected to move into Number One Observatory Circle, the Queen Anne-style property that has been home to Vice Presidents and their families for over four decades, later this week.
