Kamal recalls Kannada industry veterans in 'Vikram' promotions

Actor Kamal Haasan who was in Bengaluru last Thursday to promote his latest action film 'Vikram', directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, had the veteran actor sharing his bond and memories with Kannada industry legends and how much he's indebted to Kannada cinema for the growth of his acting career. Certainly, Kamal Haasan was in a nostalgia phase talking to the audience while promoting Vikram.

Talking about the legendary Dr. Rajkumar, Kamal Haasan says he learned how to respect people from Rajkumar, who respected Kamal Haasan a lot from his younger days seeing his cinematic brilliance. Kamal Haasan also mentioned Tamil director K. Balachander who used to bring Kamal Haasan to Bangalore to see Puttanna Kanagal films on the first day of the release. Suchitra Fil Society used to be Kamal's favorite place to meet and greet various people of the Kannada industry who were doing parallel cinema in those days. Kamal also mentioned his rapport with actor-director Girish Karnad while speaking about his love for Kannada theatre.

Kamal Haasan also went on to remember how he used to shoot his Kannada classic film 'Kokila' and was so much in love with the city that after the shoot he would go on jogging till the Kempegowda Circle but seeing the changes the city has undergone today, Kamal says he would be lost if he goes for jogging. While coming to the promotion at Mantri Mall, Malleshwaram, crossing Windsor Manor bridge, Kamal recalled shooting the film 'Pushpaka Vimana' which is famous for the iconic scenes shot on the bridge.

Vikram was released on June 3rd, to rave reviews and to do fantastic business at the box office bringing much joy to Kamal and his fans. Kamal has a slew of projects being lined up with various directors and we have to see which film Kamal will start shooting.
