Seattle Seahawks strong safety Kam Chancellor may be done playing professional football, but the next chapter of his life is just beginning.
The hard-hitting safety, who brought the boom to the legion of boom, announced on instagram that he and his wife Tiffany are expecting their first child.
Chancellor has kept himself quite busy since his playing career ended. In addition to spending most games on Seattle’s sideline, he also started a new shoe line – called the Chancellor Collection – which makes functional, athletic shoes for men.
Chancellor suffered a neck injury late in the 2017 season, which ultimately ended his playing career. However, his contract is still on the books and releasing him would have actually cost Seattle more money against the cap – so he spent 2018 on the roster.
His contract already guarantees him just over $5 million dollars for next season, but Seattle is expected to cut him in the near future to prevent paying him more in the future.
Still, the extra $5 million won’t hurt Chancellor prepare for the upcoming addition to his family.
