Kalvin Phillips steps in with class act at Leeds supermarket

Football may be on pause and we may not be leaving our houses as much, but some things will never change when it comes to Leeds United’s Kalvin Phillips.

While Wortley’s finest has been dazzling fans on the pitch for the past two seasons under Marcelo Bielsa, his stock has risen exponentially off the field too.

Not only is Phillips, arguably, the team’s most important player, but he is homegrown and also just a very polite, nice person.

Last week, he was the Whites representative to lay wreaths at Chris Loftus and Kevin Speight’s memorials and now there is a new story to add.

Across social media on Tuesday night there was a picture circulating of Phillips with a Sainsbury’s employee.

The caption from one user sharing the image said Phillips had paid for a lady’s shopping after she had forgotten her purse.

A class act if ever there was one.
