Kalvin Phillips set to receive the Marcelo Bielsa treatment with special Leeds mural

Leeds United's Kalvin Phillips is to be immortalised in paint on the side of one of the city's buildings. It follows a large mural of Whites boss Marcelo Bielsa being daubed onto the side of a structure in the Hyde Park region of the city.

United fans have eulogised over Phillips' performances in a Leeds shirt, ever since his change of position under Bielsa. The Argentine recalibrated the midfielder with a more defensive role in the team, which in turn allowed him to be a more effective distributor of the ball.

The love has flowed from the Elland Road terraces, with Phillips being jovially termed the 'Yorkshire Pirlo' owing to him now sharing the same position as Italian maestro Andrea Pirlo.

Why Raphinha is ready to make an impact

Beginnings of an enormous mural were photographed by Leeds resident Bob Peters in the Calls area of the city centre, beside the River Aire.

Peters' initial tweet read: "Recently-completed mural of Leeds United's Kalvin Phillips on a building on The Calls, Leeds, as seen from Brewery Wharf."

He swiftly corrected himself as it became apparent the mural was far from done, as artists atop a cherry-picker started to add Phillips' body to the wall.

It is unclear when the mural will be finished, but it could be up to 25-feet high. This latest show of appreciation for Leeds United's Championship-winning squad follows a spate of artistic expression devoted to the Whites players and staff.

Electricity boxes, as well as privately-owned buildings have been decorated with the white, yellow and blue of Leeds United in various forms, and this appears to be the latest.

Phillips recently made his England debut, something which had been out of the question until the arrival of Bielsa. He became the first active Leeds player to represent The Three Lions since Alan Smith in 2004.
