Kalvin Phillips has already told Leeds United his transfer stance amid Manchester United links

Kalvin Phillips is once again the subject of transfer speculation after impressing for club and country.

The Leeds United maestro attracted reported interest from Manchester City earlier this month and now Manchester United are suggested to been keen on the midfielder.

That report states that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has moved on from Declan Rice after deeming the West Ham midfielder too expensive, with Phillips valued at £60million.

Since starring at the European Championships, Phillips ' stock has flown through the roof.

His performance for England naturally drew speculation and paper talk around his future, though Phillips is tied down until 2024.

It came as a relief for United fans then to hear that their boyhood idol, with Leeds through his veins, had little interest of manoeuvring an exit strategy from Elland Road.

His agent, Kevin Shar, confirmed that his client was incredibly content in West Yorkshire.

“Before Kalvin signed his last contract, we had good interest so we sat down and explored all the pros and cons,” Kevin Sharp told the I in July.

“His desire was never to leave, it was to be rewarded and stay and play for the team he supported as a kid.

“Within the contract he signed in September 2019, we included provisions within it for if Leeds reached the Premier League, so it’s all set up for the top flight.

“We knew it was a bit of a gamble, but we knew Leeds would get there under Bielsa and obviously they did.

“There may be clubs who are actually looking at Kalvin now because the more successful you are – playing for England in big tournaments – naturally breeds interest.

“But Kalvin is happy at Leeds and has no desire to move whatsoever. It’s more a case of ‘carry on what you’re doing for club and country’.”
