Kalvin Phillips details how England stars reacted to Leeds United murderball session

Leeds United star Kalvin Phillips has revealed how his England team-mates reacted when he explained the Whites' murderball training sessions.

Phillips has four international caps to his name and was heavily involved in England's triple-header over the recent break.

Having made his debut just before the season, Phillips got two more starts under his belt against Denmark and Wales in central midfield.

Phillips has previously explained how training with England is incomparable to Leeds, with Marcelo Bielsa famed for the intensity he puts his players through during the week.

“Yeah, it's very different,” he told the England YouTube channel in September.

“At Leeds, we do more tactical stuff but with England, it's more possession-based drills.

“It caught me a little bit by surprise and I have been training for quite a long time this pre-season.

“I was a bit nervous at first when I started warming up but as soon as we got moving it was sound and all the lads made me feel welcome, so it was good.”

Now back at Elland Road and preparing for United's Premier League clash with Wolves on Monday, Phillips explained how his England colleagues were left in disbelief when he explained the murderball sessions Leeds go through on a regular basis.

"Not really, it's just totally different," Phillips told LUTV.

"I speak to the lads at England and I tell them about the way we train and the murderball sessions we do and they can't believe it.

"As I say to them until you do it, you can't understand how intense and how hard it is.

"I think it's what makes us (Leeds) better as a team and what makes us so fit so it's a good thing for us and a good thing for me when I go away."
