Kalvin Phillips confirms his hope of returning vs Arsenal as Leeds United get huge injury boost

Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips has revealed he is set to have injections in his shoulder injury that could see him face Arsenal after the international break.

The Whites confirmed Phillips could miss up to six weeks of action sustaining the injury against Wolves on October 19.

Since Phillips' injury, Leeds have only won one of their last three matches, including back-to-back 4-1 defeats to Leicester City and Crystal Palace.

With Adam Forshaw still out with a long-term injury, the Whites' squad looked bare on Saturday, with Diego Llorente, Jamie Shackleton and Rodrigo Moreno also unavailable.

Phillips, though, has provided a timely boost after footage appeared on social media of a conversation with teammate Leif Davis whilst playing Warzone.

The 23-year-old will miss this week's triple-header with England and wasn't due to return until the start of December, with a clash against Chelsea targeted as a potential return date.

Phillips claimed that he would have an injection after the international break, in a bid for him to be fit to face Arsenal at Elland Road on October 22.

"How's your shoulder feel now?" Davis asked in a clip posted on Reddit.

"It's still sore mate, it's been sore for ages. I'm meant to get an injection at the end of the international break," Phillips responded.

"So you can play against Arsenal?" Davis asked, to which his teammate replied: "Yeah. Hopefully, anyway."

Should Phillips return for the clash with Arsenal, it would provide a timely boost ahead of what will be a busy period for the Whites where they will play seven Premier League games in just over a month.
