'Kalki 2898 AD': IMAX 3D shows of Prabhas and Deepika Padukone starrer NOT cancelled! Details Inside

The clock is finally ticking down to the release of the Nag Ashwin's magnum opus 'Kalki 2898 AD'. As excitement for he film reaches new highs with the film just hours away from its release, rumours began circulating online claiming that the IMAX 3D shows of the Prabhas and Deepika Padukone starrer have been cancelled in theatres across the country.

Viral tweets alleged, "IMAX 3D shows have been cancelled all over India," causing concern among fans.

Others claimed that their tickets were being cancelled in places ranging from Noida to Malad West, leaving only 2D options available for booking.

Reacting to these rumours, sources told ETimes, "These rumours are all false. The calibration for 3D works differently and takes time. Booking for 3D shows will definitely be available in some time."

'Kalki 2898 AD' set in a dystopian time, is written and directed by Nag Ashwin. Inspired by Hindu scriptures, the film is set in a post-apocalyptic world in the year 2898 AD. The star-studded cast also includes Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Disha Patani, Brahmanandam, Shobhana, Saswata Chatterjee, Pasupathy, and Malvika Nair in pivotal roles.

The film sees Bachchan portraying the character Ashwatthama while Prabhas stars as Bhairava, Haasan as Supreme Yaskin, Deepika as SUM-80, a pregnant lab subject, and Disha as Roxie.

Scheduled to hit the screens on June 27, the film has already garnered significant attention with advance box office bookings surpassing the 1.3 million mark in ticket sales. With just one day to go before its release, the film has already clocked in an estimated Rs 40 crore in advance Day 1 bookings. Besides its strong domestic box office performance, Kalki 2898 AD is also poised to make a significant impact in international markets and is reportedly on course to make a Rs 200 crore debut.
