Kalidou Koulibaly responds to questions on Napoli future amid Man Utd interest

Kalidou Koulibaly refused to close the door on a move to Manchester United following Napoli's exit from the Europa League.

The Serie A club were knocked out of the competition following a 3-0 aggregate defeat to Arsenal on Thursday.

Koulibaly has been rumoured to be on his way to Old Trafford in the summer, and did little to play down speculation linking him with a transfer.

Speaking about his future after the loss to the Gunners , Koulibaly said: "To me what matters most is to finish the season well, then we'll see."

The 27-year-old is seen as an ideal solution to United's problems in defence, having impressed during his time in Italy.

However, Koulibaly rejected suggestions he is too good for the league, and claimed he owes a lot of his development to the division.

When quizzed whether it was time to move on from Serie A, he added: "Why? I grew up in this league. It's the league that made me the player I am today."

The Senegalese defender could do little to help his side overturn a 2-0 first leg defeat to Arsenal though, as they were beaten in the return fixture by a single goal from Alexandre Lacazette.

Napoli were among the favourites to win the competition, having entered following their elimination from this season's Champions League.

But they were comfortably beaten over two legs by Unai Emery's Arsenal, and are now set to end the season empty handed.

Koulibaly said: "It's our fault, we should have been a bit tougher, have more anger to score goals, and we didn't have it.

"But at this level, when you do a wrong first half as we did the first leg, it's hard to come back. We saw it tonight and we are very sorry."
