Kalidou Koulibaly, Lautaro Martinez - the players tipped to sign for Man City this summer

Manchester City have signed five new players so far during this summer transfer window as they look to steal their title back from Liverpool.

The Reds won their first league title in 30 years last season, ending City’s two-year streak of lifting the Premier League trophy.

So far this summer, Pep Guardiola has brought in Nathan Ake, Ferran Torres, Pablo Moreno, Yan Couto and Issa Kabore.

They have been tipped by BetVictor to sign a few more players before the window shuts, and here we have a list of names with relatively short odds.

Please note there were no odds available for known City targets Jose Gimenez and Jules Kounde.

Kalidou Koulibaly (5/4)

Kalidou Koulibaly has been Manchester City's top transfer target this summer after earlier securing the signature of Ake.

Guardiola is still keen to bolster his defensive options with a right-sided defender that could play alongside Aymeric Laporte.

Negotiations with Napoli have stalled but City remain strong in the bid for his signature, according to the latest odds.

Paris St Germain are the current favourites at 4/5, with City slightly longer at 5/4. Manchester United (16/1), Liverpool (18/1), Chelsea (33/1) and Arsenal (40/1) are also on the list but their chances are reflected in the numbers.

Harry Kane (4/1)

The Spurs striker has been linked with a move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this summer, and City are 4/1 to land the England captain according to the bookies, even though the Blues are not thought to be considering a striker signing this summer.

Kane has started this season in wonderful form - despite no goal contributions on the opening weekend - the 27-year-old provided four assists and grabbed himself a goal in Spurs’ 5-2 victory over Southampton on Sunday.

The Tottenham forward fuelled transfer speculation during lockdown when he admitted he could leave the club unless they make progress.

With Sergio Aguero now 32-years-old, the Argentine striker will need to be replaced in the future, unless Guardiola chooses Gabriel Jesus as his successor.

Antoine Griezmann (6/1)

It’s been a summer of crisis at Barcelona, with Lionel Messi going public with his desire to leave the club, and then some of their biggest stars also departing the Nou Camp.

In recent days, it has emerged that Griezmann’s representatives offered their client to City at the start of the summer.

The French forward has had an inconsistent time at Barca since joining the club from Atletico Madrid in 2019.

However, the 29-year-old has started this campaign very well - scoring the only goal of the game to beat Elche on Saturday evening.

Adama Traore (6/1)

It was reported earlier in the summer that City had overtaken Barcelona in the race for Wolves winger Traore.

The Spanish winger showed his quality on countless occasions for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side last season and has reportedly attracted interest from Liverpool and the Citizens.

The 24-year-old is priced at 6/1 to move to the Etihad Stadium, but a move, this summer at least, seems unlikely.

Torres was signed from Valencia, and he plays a very similar position to Traore - and with Bernardo Silva and Riyad Mahrez - who also play on the right-wing, there is plenty to choose from for Guardiola.

Lautaro Martinez (6/1)

Martinez’s impressive 2019-20 season for Inter Milan means he has been linked with a few of Europe’s top clubs - including Barcelona and Man City.

A report on Sky Sports’ website claims that the Argentine forward is seen as Aguero’s potential long-term replacement.

The 23-year-old striker scored 21 goals in all competitions for Antonio Conte’s Inter side last season, sparking speculation over his future at the San Siro.

BetVictor are providing 6/1 odds on Martinez moving to the Etihad Stadium.
