Kalidou Koulibaly drops hint on his Napoli future amid Man City transfer interest

Kalidou Koulibaly has opened up on his future amid Manchester City's interest in him.

M.E.N. Sport understands that the Blues have a four-man centre-back shortlist for this summer which includes Ruben Dias, Nathan Ake and Pau Torres, as well as Koulibaly.

City have struggled at the back this season after not replacing former captain Vincent Kompany and losing Aymeric Laporte to serious injury for a significant portion of the 2019/20 campaign.

And the 29-year-old's most recent comments on his future have appeared to offer City hope of securing a deal this summer.

“I would love to stay at Napoli for life, but I can’t make promises,” he told Radio Kiss Kiss via Football Italia.

“I am part of the project and at the end of the season I will speak to the directors.

“Right now, my mind is 100% on the pitch.”

Napoli president Aurelio Di Laurentiis claimed last month that Koulibaly's asking price won't budge despite the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.

He said: "If City or United or PSG with €100m (£90m) showed up, I would think about it [selling Koulibaly] and it is probable that they [the player] would leave, always if their will was to leave.”
