Kaleb Wesson to be eligible for the Big Ten Tournament

The wait is over. After sleepwalking through the last four games, Ohio State will have the services of big-man Kaleb Wesson once again as it prepares for the Big Ten Tournament. This, according to comments made by head coach Chris Holtmann on today’s Big Ten Tournament coaches teleconference.

We still don’t have any news as to why Wesson was suspended, but his insertion into the lineup will be no doubt be a welcome addition to the team.

And they’ll need him. Ohio State is playing for its NCAA Tournament life Thursday against Indiana. Both teams are among the teams right on the supposed cut-line for the tournament and the winner may very well get the invite, with the other being left out of the mix.

Now we’ll have to wait to see if the Buckeyes can simply plug and go with Wesson in the lineup or if there will be an adjustment period and conditioning issues with him being out for a few games.

For their sake, let’s hope there’s an ability to flip the switch a bit and be better than what we’ve seen in his absence.
