Kaiser Chiefs announce new Nottingham gig at Motorpoint Arena after 'phenomenal demand'

The Kaiser Chiefs have announced they will play Nottingham's Motorpoint Arena as one of two extra shows to their upcoming UK arena tour.

The indie pop band said they were "blown away" by the "phenomenal demand" shown for their latest tour and will play in Nottingham on Friday, January 17, 2020.

Razorlight will also be joining the Kaiser Chiefs on tour.

The Kaiser Chiefs, now into their fifteenth year, will be playing songs from their latest album 'Duck' which releases on July 26.

Duck, the band's seventh studio album, was recorded and mixed with producer Ben H. Allen, who previously collaborated with the band on 2014’s number one album Education, Education, Education & War.

Other production collaborators include and Iain Archer (Liam Gallagher, James Bay) with additional mixing by Mark “Spike” Stent (U2, Ed Sheeran, Arcade Fire) who worked with Kaiser Chiefs on defining single Everyday I Love You Less And Less.

“It’s undeniably fantastic and undeniably Kaiser Chiefs,” said frontman Ricky Wilson.

“We wanted to do something that had a Kaiser Chiefs DNA but still try and do something different,” added bassist Simon Rix. “It has the right spirit.”

Tickets for the Nottingham gig start from £26.40 and will go on sale at 9am on Friday, June 28 via Ticketmaster.

The band are also playing in Bridlington, Hull, Edinburgh, Blackpool, Birmingham, Plymouth, Bournemouth, Brighton, Cardiff and London on their UK tour next year.
