Kaiju No 8 The Game Character Tier List
This Kaiju No 8 The Game tier list focuses on mid-to-late game progression and the Fierce Battle Area mode. I'll show you the best characters for DPS, buff/debuff support and shield/heal defender taking into account dupes/ascensions. You'll find the strongest options for the three roles in S and A-Tier with the B-Tier being decent alternatives. The C and D-Tiers are underpowered options that you start with but should avoid later for Fierce Battle Area. Let's dive into each unit individually below.
S-Tier Characters

• A must-have DPS for Fierce Combat Area just due to his Ice Break dealing Ult-like damage as a regular skill • Ult deals great damage with a Crit Rate buff and deals AOE damage and Freezes which is an incredible mix of DPS and utility • Plus, you get SP back most of the time due to his passive • Lastly, offers excellent support damage off-turn as allies pop your Ice Crystals • Easy SSS-Tier |

• A must-have for Fierce Battle Area due to the ally shield protection making sure no one dies • Ult is both for damage and damage reduction • Shields give a damage boost while they last • Resurrects and heals himself on first dupe which is incredibly strong |
 Soshiro Hoshina 4-Star Slash Supporter |
• One of the best 4-Stars and supports overall in Kaiju NO8 that's good with any DPS character • A crazy strong A1 dupe effect for massively buffing Crit Rate that's easy to unlock • Combine with Reno who already has a ton of Crit Rate and Hoshina will make sure Reno crits all the time • Instant Inspiration & Resourcefulness in a Pinch are also a must on your battle buddy for increased damage and debuff cleansing |
 Kaiju No. 8 5-Star Blunt Attacker |
• Since you get no weapons and Uniparts critting takes some extra steps but you can still do it yourself and your base stats are cranked way up along with perma buffs • In the first few weeks Kaiju No. 8 will most-likely be one of the best units • That said, as you max out and evolve weapons and artifacts on other top-tier units I feel like this unit will fall behind slightly • Still, it's a beast for Fierce Battle Area with the proper support characters like Mina and Soshiro because you do so much damage and can also tank and taunt a bit • Executes mobs so get them low with your team and have Kaiju finish them |
A-Tier Characters

• Gets progressively stronger the longer the fight is with each action • Her Ultimate is amazing team DMG utility because it lowers enemy DEF for the entire team to take advantage off • Has great adjacent damage for some AOE |

• One of the best boss-killers in the game so she's better for end-game bosses since she does more damage against Giant-class • While her DPS is okay Mina 5-Star is all about playing around her guaranteed Crit every 3 Focus stacks so make sure to buff her up before that and then Ult with it • Don't build her with Crit Rate since she auto crits with Focus and just buffs herself up before that big turn |
 Gen Narumi 5-Star Slash/Shot Attacker |
• Has a great mix of boss-killer single target damage in his base kit while also doing adjacent damage for AOE • Cycles speeding up buffs and ulting and then speeding up again • That said, I think overall you're better off with Kikoru/Kaiju Kafka and then Mina for end-game bosses |
 Akari Minase 4-Star Shot Defender |
• Amazing healer-based support that along with Isao makes sure your team doesn't die in any end-game mode, especially later floors of Fierce Battle Arena • Boosts Ultimate charge-up rate • Great for SP economy since you only need to use SP with her when you need to and you can otherwise let your 5-Star DPS use it • Revives allies on A6 which is incredibly OP |
 Mina Ashiro 4-Star Shot Supporter |
• One of the better 4-Star characters that buffs your attackers and is really good with later support dupes • The cool thing about the Morale damage buff is that you only need to apply it once and then you don't have to spend SP for a while which is great for SP economy for 5-Star DPSs • Can also deal decent burst damage with her Ult and skills that trigger damage boost if there's Morale • She's kind of a mix between DPS and Support and she would be higher if she specialized in one |
B-Tier Characters

• Has decent AOE damage for clearing groups • The ult deals a lot of single target damage for bosses • That said, Hoshina doesn't have as much utility as A-Tiers in terms of DPS with Kikoru also doing great damage and reducing DEF or Kaiju Kafka executing |
 Ryo Ikaruga 4-Star Shot Supporter |
• Excellent choice as autofill for your teams on Fierce Battle Area for team ATK/damage buffs • Has a permanent attack buff and plays mostly around his first skill and ult so you don't have to spend a lot of SP and therefore have more for your 5-stars |
 Kota Tachibana 4-Star Shot/Ice Defender |
• Similar to 5-Star Mina in the sense that you want this guy for end-game Giant-class Kaiju battles to lower their ATK with Menacing Blow • Also freezes with Freeze grenade which is always good utility in a fight to debuff enemies • Otherwise deals okay damage and has a strong niche use so B-Tier |
 Haruichi Izumo 4-Star Shot Supporter |
• Fills the same role as Kota where he lowers ATK for important bosses • Also, with Pace Control, you can lower Speed after attacking • That said the debuffs are much lower than Kota so I prefer him over Haruichi |
C & D Tier Characters
All the other units in Kaiju No 8 The Game are just beginner options that offer some form of early-game DPS or weaker support. You can pick your favorites here and run whatever you want as you start but aim for the S, A and B-Tier options. Special shoutouts to Keiji Itami 4-Star who can debuff enemies and 4-Star Kafka who is okay in his Ult Kaiju form.

The best beginner damage unit that you don't need weapons for is the Kafka 5-Star Kaiju form. As for the weapon-based characters, 5-Star Reno and Kikoru are really strong with Reno having Crit and Freeze and Kikoru having damage ramping and DEF debuff with ult.
The best support characters in the game are 4-Star Soshiro and Mina. Both buff your team's damage and can drastically improve specific DPS characters in your team.
As for the defender-oriented supports your best options are the 5-Star Isao Shinomiya who shields your team and the 4-Star Akari who heals your team.
I recommend the 5-Star Kaiju Kafka since you don't need to farm weapons for him. Get the Soshiro 4-Star support next to buff Kaiju Kafka and you can autofill the team with another DPS for a great early to mid-game start until you get the other 4-Star and 5-Star characters.
