Kaide Gordon had fans excited after his cameo appearance during Liverpool's 1-1 draw against Wacker Innsbruck in pre-season.
Much has been anticipated of the £3m Derby County man and he did nothing but fuel the anticipation with his display.
Gordon netted six goals in eight games for Marc Bridge-Wilkinson's side in the U18 Premier League, proving why Liverpool were desperate to beat Manchester United to his signature.
The youngster joined up with Jurgen Klopp's senior stars for their pre-season training camp in Austria and started the first friendly on the right wing, partnering Divock Origi and Takumi Minamino in attack.
Gordon was the man who stole the show in the draw, showcasing some quick feet and an excellent first touch as he continued to threaten the Innsbruck defence.
Liverpool fans were delighted with what they saw from the 16-year-old.
Gordon will be hoping to continue to impress and get senior minutes under his belt in the remaining pre-season fixtures in Austria against Mainz 05 and Hertha Berlin before two tests against Spanish opposition, Athletic Bilbao and Osasuna, in August.
Prior to his Liverpool transfer, former Manchester United star now Derby County manager Wayne Rooney waxed lyrical about the youngster.
He said: "Kaide is a fantastic player. I brought him into the squad because he was showing the qualities I want.
"Once a team like Liverpool comes in for one of your players it is hard to turn that down."
