Kaide Gordon prediction made by Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool dealt James Milner blow

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed James Milner was ruled out of Liverpool's League Cup clash with Norwich City through illness.

With Trent Alexander-Arnold currently also ill, the Reds vice-captain started at right-back in his absence against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

"The reasons always the same, you want to win the football game, you want to have fresh legs, you want to bring in boys with desire.

"The opponent made changes, it’s just the time of the year they had to do that. I’m really looking forward to the game because it will be pretty intense."

One of the players to benefit from Klopp making such changes was 16-year-old Kaide Gordon, as the teenager became the third-youngest player to start a game for Liverpool.

And the Reds boss shared his excitement at the former Derby County starlet's potential.

"I saw him properly in pre-season and he spent a full pre-season with us like Conor Bradley as well," he said.

"That’s a big talent no doubt. He played already in our pre season friendlies, not sure Osasuna or the other.

"A top top talent. I’m excited to give him opportunity. He’s a good player you will see that immediately."
