Kai Rae: Police issue urgent appeal after missing 16-year-old spotted at Edinburgh Waverley

Police have made a second appeal after a missing teenager was spotted at Edinburgh Waverley.

Officers in Lanarkshire are searching for 16-year-old Kai Rae, after he was reported missing from the Cambuslang area on Monday, November 23.

Now missing for over a week, police have released CCTV images they have been able to source that have confirmed Kai travelled to Edinburgh on November 23.

Photographed in the station, Kai then boarded a train and was seen leaving King's Cross Station in London later that evening at around 10.10pm.

CCTV images show him wearing a black hoodie with 'GAP' outlined in white letters on the front, dark blue jeans and dark trainers. He was also wearing a black mask, a back pack and carrying a dark blue GAP paper bag.

Inspector Stephen McManus said: "We have a number of resources dedicated to the search for Kai and are working with our colleagues at the British Transport Police and Metropolitan Police as part of our enquiries.

"Kai has been missing for over a week now. It is extremely unusual for him not to be in contact with his family and they are understandably extremely worried.

"We have released these CCTV images of Kai at King's Cross Station to show what he was last seen wearing in the hope that someone may recognise him or know where he may have travelled on to. Perhaps someone spoke to him at either of the train stations or on the trains?

"If Kai sees this appeal, I would ask him to please contact family, friends or police to let us know that he is safe."

Kai is described as white, 5 ft 6 ins tall, slim build with short brown hair.

Anyone who may have seen Kai or has any information on his whereabouts is urged to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 1144 of 23 November.
