Kai Kennedy set for new Rangers deal as Ibrox club tie down highly-rated teenager ahead of fresh loan

Rangers youngster Kai Kennedy is set to sign a new contract at the club.

The highly-rated 18-year-old has returned from his six-month loan spell at Inverness but his current deal was due to expire at the end of the campaign.

Kennedy was one of John Robertson's top performers in Scotland's second tier and has developed to the extent Steven Gerrard believes he's worth keeping on despite rumours of an exit over the summer.

There was speculation the teenage winger could move on from Rangers but Record Sport understands that is set to be put to bed with an announcement from the club due soon.

Kennedy made his first team debut in a Scottish Cup clash against Stranraer last year and will be able to showcase his talents in Kirkcaldy for the rest of the Championship season.

Upon leaving Caley, he wrote on Instagram: "Would like to thanks @ictfc for the last few months and wish you all the best for the rest of the season".

According to the Scottish Sun his next move will be to Raith Rovers, with the youngster set to join the Kirkcaldy club on loan until the end of the season.
