Kai Kennedy set for further Rangers loan switch as Premiership clubs circle for winger

Kai Kennedy is set to continue his development by heading out on loan from Rangers next season.

A host of Scottish Premiership clubs are interesting in taking the diminutive winger on loan after he impressed in the Championship with Raith Rovers and Inverness Caley Thistle.

Kennedy is highly-rated at Ibrox with Steven Gerrard handing him his first team debut as a 17-year-old in the Scottish Cup in January 2020.

A hitch in contract talks led to some struggles between the club and player but they were resolved and he eventually signed a new deal despite interest from elsewhere.

And now Glasgow Live Sport understands that he will be allowed to head out for more first team experience and take the step up to the Premiership this season.

It's believed a number of clubs are interested in taking him and a deal could be sorted before the Premier Sports Cup kicks off in July.

Kennedy and Rangers have high hopes for his future at the club but feel that another year out on loan will help him after a campaign in the Covid disrupted Championship.

The 19-year-old made 29 appearances for his two loan clubs over the course of last season and is hoping he can get more experience under his belt in the top flight.

Fellow Rangers youngster Ben Williamson is set to join Livingston on loan, after the Ibrox midfielder impressed at Arbroath.

There's also a chance various other fringe and young players including Glenn Middleton and Stephen Kelly could leave on temporary deals after they've been assessed in pre-season.
