Kai Kennedy earns Rangers recognition as Ibrox youngster named in elite UEFA youth team of the year

Rangers' Kai Kennedy has been included in a UEFA-chosen team of the best youngsters in European football last year.

The UEFA Youth League has published their team of the year and Kennedy features alongside starlets from the likes of Real Madrid, Juventus and Ajax.

Josko Gvardiol of Dinamo Zagreb is also included — the teenager currently keeping first-choice Rangers left-back Borna Barisic out of the Croatia team at Euro 2020.

Kennedy, who was been loaned out to Inverness and Raith Rovers last term, is named as a starter on the right side of the team.

But after Covid shelved the tournament for last season Kennedy has been recognised for his performances in 2019-20 in Light Blue.

Kennedy has signed a new Ibrox contract that will keep him in Glasgow until the summer of 2023.

He could be loaned out again to help continue his development after standing out in the Scottish Championship.
