Kai Havertz to Chelsea transfer proves one big thing about Frank Lampard

Chelsea are about to add their sixth transfer of the summer window ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.

The Blues have already brought in Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Ben Chilwell, Malang Sarr and Thiago Silva, while Kai Havertz is going to add to those ranks.

It has been announced that the 21-year-old has left the Germany national side to complete his transfer to the Blues and the signing will be confirmed shortly.

The moves that Chelsea have made this summer have been unparalleled to the rest of the clubs around Europe.

10 players Chelsea could sell

Chelsea have used the fees they received for Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata, along with other smaller signings, while also investing in the money they had saved due to the transfer ban last summer.

The Blues also failed to sign anyone in January, meaning they were putting all their eggs into one basket during this current window.

What the spending from Roman Abramovich and deals done by Marina Granovskaia is that there is a real faith in the project Frank Lampard wants to build at Stamford Bridge.

Apart from the short-term plan of Silva to help the defence, there is a real long-term vision in trying to achieve success over a sustained period of time.

The Blues aren't just buying squad players, but those who can make a real impact in the starting XI and push for trophies once again.

The deals that Granovskaia has got over the line are main targets that Lampard has wanted, and it has proved they are willing to back in for the future.
