Kai Havertz speaks out on his future in a boost to Arsenal and Spurs transfer hopes

Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Kai Havertz has played down speculation that he will be joining Bayern Munich.

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have both been linked with the 20-year-old in recent transfer windows.

Since making his senior debut in October 2016, the youngster has played 105 games for Leverkusen, and is regarded as one of the most exciting talents in Europe.

The midfielder has the versatility to play out wide, behind the forwards, in a deeper role and in the centre of the pitch.

He is strong with both his feet and has been compared to Mesut Ozil in the past but unlike his compatriot Havertz is a more dynamic presence with and without the ball.

Premier League transfer round-up

Bayern had been expected to move for the former Fritz Walter Medal-winner, an award handed out to the most promising young player in Germany, but speaking to Bild, the midfielder has left his options open.

"I really don't know yet whether Bayern will be the next or right step for me," he said. "I don't know whether going abroad would come into question. I'm not thinking too much about it right now."

A €100million transfer fee has been mooted to take the Leverkusen midfielder to Bayern but the player himself is not concerned by the pressure of such a price tag.

"I am calm. That's the transfer market and I can't do anything about it.

"Of course, you'd have a target on your head when you move for such fee but personally I wouldn't care."
