Havertz warning
Kai Havertz has sent a warning to the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool, claiming Chelsea are a dangerous prospect when playing with confidence.
"When we play with confidence, there are not many teams that can beat us," he told the club's official programme for the Arsenal clash.
"Apart from that, we also have a lot of other qualities that I think we showed in the matches against Real Madrid – the mix is very good between experience and young players who are very hungry.
"Technically, tactically, almost everything fits right now, so it’s very important that we keep the momentum because there are a lot more big games coming now. We keep on working in every single training session because there is always some room to improve."
Silva future hint
Thiago Silva's wife has already declared her wish to stay in west London beyond this summer.
Silva has impressed since joining on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain, becoming a key cog of Chelsea's back-line under Frank Lampard and Thomas Tuchel.
Silva has been key in helping Chelsea take a commanding position in the top four race, and indeed in reaching both the FA Cup and Champions League finals.
But at the age of 36, and given how ruthless Chelsea have been with ageing players in the Roman Abramovich era, the decision over whether to offer a renewal does not appear straightforward.
The Blues have the option to extend the Brazilian's deal by another year, but with plenty of options at centre-back and with rumours Tuchel could yet sign another, Silva's future remains uncertain.
Chelsea fans certainly want to see Silva back at Stamford Bridge next season given how well he has performed, despite some injury issues.
And it is for that reason Silva's wife's latest update will put plenty of smiles on faces around west London with the Brazilian veteran's partner announcing her desire to stick around.
During an Instagram Q and A, Isabele da Silva was asked: 'Will Thiago stay at Chelsea next season?'
In reply, she said: "To depend on us...yes yes yes!!!!"
Gallagher's verdict on Zouma challenge
Former Premier League referee Dermot Gallagher has delivered his verdict on the Kurt Zouma and Raheem Sterling incident in Chelsea's win over Manchester City.
Goals from Hakim Ziyech and Marcos Alonso secured the three points for Chelsea, but they did dodge two huge scares.
Sergio Aguero missed a penalty in embarrassing fashion, chipping the ball into Edouard Mendy's grasp before Manchester City almost won a late penalty to give them the chance to take the lead before Alonso's winner.
Raheem Sterling hit the deck with Kurt Zouma applying pressure from behind, but Anthony Taylor was not convinced and VAR did not see an obvious error to overturn the decision.
Though, former referee Gallagher disagrees, telling Sky Sports: "If the referee gives a penalty on the field, I'd say, 'Clumsy,' and we'd move on. Because the ref doesn't give a penalty, that's why we're talking about it.
"It's the safer option to give a penalty for that. I can't explain it. Zouma is clumsy, doesn't get the ball and I think it's a penalty. Once Anthony Taylor decides it's not a penalty, VAR can't say it's a clear and obvious error.
"If the penalty had been given, the VAR wouldn't have overturned it. However you cut it, this is an on-field decision."
