Kai Havertz sends Bayer Leverkusen Europa League hint amid Chelsea transfer links

Chelsea are pushing hard to make Kai Havertz their third signing of the summer transfer window.

The Bayer Leverkusen midfielder is one of the main priorities for Frank Lampard after securing early moves for Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner earlier in the summer.

The German international is keen on a move to Stamford Bridge with talks continuing between the two clubs in an attempt to reach an agreement over a fee.

Leverkusen have remained determined that the midfielder will be a part of their remaining Europa League games despite the intense speculation over his future.

"We have said several times that we will end the season with our entire squad. And that includes Kai. That goes without saying for us,” the club’s Sporting Director Simon Rolfes said last week .

And if the player’s latest social media post is anything to go by, then that is what is on his mind too.

On Instagram, the German posted a picture of him walking out for Leverkusen against Rangers in the Europa League, accompanied by emojis of ‘soon’, the EU flag and a trophy and the Leverkusen hashtag.

Leverkusen host Scottish Premiership sde Rangers in the second leg of their round of 16 tie on Thursday afternoon.

The Bundesliga club take a 3-1 lead into the tie which kicks off at 17:55.

Havertz is expected to be named in the squad, with Chelsea fans likely to be keeping a close eye on how he performs.
