Kai Havertz's reaction to Timo Werner move sends Chelsea fans into transfer frenzy

Chelsea supporters have taken to social media after noticing Kai Havertz's reaction to a post on Instagram announcing Timo Werner's transfer.

The Blues have confirmed that a deal has been agreed to sign the RB Leipzig striker, after activating his £47.5million release clause.

Werner will remain at the Bundesliga club until the end of the German league season, before linking up with his new teammates next month.

The Germany international becomes Chelsea's second major summer signing after a deal to sign Hakim Ziyech from Aiax was already confirmed in February.

But Chelsea are reportedly not done yet, with further additions linked with a move to west London, including Bayer Leverkusen's Kai Havertz.

The Leverkusen youngster has attracted interest from a host of top clubs thanks to his performances in the Bundesliga this season, but it is Chelsea who have reportedly made the first move.

According to The Mail, the Blues stepped up their interest by opening talks for the £89million-rated star.

And the 20-year-old has caught the attention of Chelsea supporters after ‘liking’ 433’s post about his Germany teammate.

Speaking after the Werner deal was announced, Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia revealed her delight.

"We are very excited that Timo Werner has chosen to join Chelsea," Granovskaia told the official club website.

"He is a player who was coveted all over Europe and it is no surprise, he has that rare mix of being young and exciting and yet established and proven.

"We can’t wait to have Timo on board, but until then we wish him and RB Leipzig all the best for the rest of this season."
