Here is your Chelsea morning digest for Friday, July 24.
Havertz to Chelsea transfer 'confirmed'
Kai Havertz's £72million Chelsea transfer appears to have been 'confirmed'.
As reported by football.london, the West London outfit hold an interest in the Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid and if reports are to be believed then they will soon be confirming the signing of the Germany international.
But, former Manchester City winger Leroy Sane just might have beaten them to it.
Lineker makes Pulisic prediction
Gary Lineker has predicted that Chelsea man Christian Pulisic will become a ‘star’ for the Blues after his performance against Liverpool on Wednesday night.
Pulisic arrived at Stamford Bridge in the summer. He spent the second half of last season back on loan at former club Borussia Dortmund after completing a move to Stamford Bridge in January 2019.
The USA international missed nine games through injury before the suspension of fixtures but has returned in superb form for Frank Lampard’s team.
In his eight league games since the return of the Premier League, Pulisic has scored four goals and provided another four assists leading to praise from Lineker.
Azpilicueta gives Liverpool verdict
Cesar Azpilicueta has claimed that he felt "it was not a free-kick" that led to Liverpool's second goal against Chelsea on Wednesday evening.
Already 1-0 down to Naby Keita's stunning goal after 23 minutes, it was to get even worse for Frank Lampard's men 15 minutes later as Andre Marriner blew for a foul outside the box after Sadio Mane went to ground.
Replays showed that Blues midfielder Mateo Kovacic clearly got the ball and Lampard was left incensed on the touchline.
The head coach was involved in a war of words with Jurgen Klopp and his bench following the decision, with Trent Alexander-Arnold converting the free-kick to double the Reds' lead.
