Chelsea injury news ahead of Leicester: Updates on Kai Havertz, Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner

Chelsea have enjoyed a fine start to their Premier League season with Thomas Tuchel's team only losing one match from their opening 11 games.

The Blues take on Leicester City this weekend as they look to extend their advantage at the top of the table, but Tuchel will be well aware of the threat the Foxes can pose at the King Power Stadium.

However, Tuchel is set to be without a few of his key players following the international break, but there is some good news regarding Chelsea's injury problems.

With that being said, takes a close look at the players Tuchel may be with and without for this weekend's clash with Leicester.

Kai Havertz

Havertz has been deployed as a false nine during the absence of Romelu Lukaku so there will have been a sharp intake of breath when Germany manager Hansi Flick reported that he was struggling with a thigh problem.

However, fears were soon eased when Flick revealed that Havertz would be available for the clash with Armenia, one he found the net in.

Hansi Flick said: "Marc [ter Stegen] will play from the beginning, we also assume that Kai can play. He trained with the team for the first time today, he is fit and will play from the start.”

Expected return date: Leicester (A) - Saturday, November 20.

Romelu Lukaku

The Belgian has missed Chelsea's last five matches in all competitions but it appears he may not be far away from a return.

Lukaku shared a picture of himself back in training on Monday afternoon and, while Saturday's clash may come too soon for him, it appears a return to action is not far away.

He tweeted:

Expected return date: N/A

Mason Mount

Mount suffered pain from infected wisdom teeth prior to the international break and he had to withdraw from the England camp after not recovering from surgery in time.

Southgate confirmed that Mount would not be joining the camp ahead of their clash with San Marino, and now the midfielder will be targeting a return against Leicester.

Southgate said: "Luke (Shaw) and Mason are very unlikely to join us. It looks like we will run out of time with those two."

Expected return date: Leicester (A) - Saturday, November 20.

Timo Werner and Mateo Kovacic

Both players were forced to miss international fixtures for Germany and Croatia respectively.

However, Werner was pictured taking part in training ahead of the Leicester match at the weekend and the German forward now looks set to be in contention for the game at the King Power.

Kovacic, though, was still not present in training and remains a doubt for the trip to the Foxes.

Tuchel said before the break: "Yes, these players are all still out. For Timo, Romelu and Kova no surprise. For Mason, he does not feel better."
